    Troxy originally opened as a grand cinema in 1933 and was designed to seat an audience of 3520 people. Erected on the site of an old brewery, it cost £250,000 to build. The cinema had luxurious seating areas and mirror-lined restaurants and all the staff wore evening dress. It seemed like Hollywood had come to Commercial Road in all its glory. Outside was a blaze of lights, inside a large foyer with a large sweeping staircase, chandeliers, floor to ceiling mirrors and thick carpets. It had the best films and a floodlit organ which rose from the orchestra pit during the interval, playing all of the latest tunes.     Royal Museums Greenwich is proud to offer the historic Queen’s House as a beautiful setting for daytime events. Located at the heart of the celebrated UNESCO World Heritage Site in Greenwich, The Queen’s House is the earliest example in England of classical architecture and one of Inigo Jones’ few surviving major works. The house was commissioned by Queen Anne of Denmark in 1616 and is situated at the foot of Greenwich Royal Park with a commanding view over the Thames and Canary Wharf. To mark its 400th year anniversary the house is undergoing an incredible restoration project to return the house to its former Baroque splendour. During the day, this formal royal villa, boasts a beautiful suite of rooms for hire, facing the internationally renowned Royal Observatory Greenwich. On Wednesday and Thursday the spaces used for day time events for up to 50 guests consist of the South East and South West Parlours plus two small cabinet rooms, which are ideal as breakout spaces. Also within this space is the Orangery where lunches and refreshments can be served. On Fridays and Saturdays the whole house is available for daytime hire for events up to 120 guests. The main entertaining space is the Great Hall which retains the original black and white marble tiles and is a truly iconic display of British Palladian grandeur. Exquisite outdoor space in the surrounding grounds and colonnades are included with every hire making the Queen’s House and spectacular spot for summer entertaining.

    Gracepoint is an historic Grade II* listed building located in the heart of Islington. Built by famous architect George Coles, the venue has a magnificent Art Deco style façade, infused with an Egyptian theme, dressed in multi coloured Hathernware tiles. Inside the building the décor changes to an Empire design with Egyptian touches in the foyer and then into the auditorium which has a beautiful French Renaissance style. Gracepoint has recently been refurbished and the original décor being restored. Gracepoint offers auditorium style seating with a capacity of over 900.
