    The Royal Hospital Chelsea was founded in 1682 by King Charles II as the home of the Chelsea Pensioners. While the site is generally open daily for public visitors; for the best overview of the history of the Hospital, plus fascinating insights into life as a Chelsea Pensioner today, why not book one of the daily walking tours? These last around ninety minutes and are always led by one of the Chelsea Pensioners, who will take great pride in showing you around their fascinating home. Tours include the Royal Hospital's Great Hall, Wren Chapel, Figure Court, Ranelagh Gardens (subject to the time of year) museum and gift shop. Tours begin at 10:00am and 1.30pm, Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays). Please note that this tour covers internal and external spaces, and will include stairs.

    Located on the edge of Holland Park in Kensington, the house is one of the most remarkable buildings of the 19th century. The house was the former home and studio of the leading Victorian artist, Frederic, Lord Leighton (1830-1896). Built to designs by George Aitchison, it was extended and embellished over a period of 30 years to create a private palace of art. The Arab Hall is the centerpiece of the house. Designed to display Leighton's priceless collection of over a thousand Islamic tiles, mostly brought back from Damascus in Syria, the interior evokes a compelling vision of the Orient. The opulence continues through the other richly decorated interiors, with gilded ceilings and walls lined with peacock blue tiles by the ceramic artist William De Morgan. On the first floor is Leighton's grand painting studio with its great north window, dome and apse.

    The Foundation offers exclusive and striking white spaces for events. We are happy to discuss your individual event requirements to help you make the most of this venue. The Space: The 35,000 sq ft space was previously a coachworks for Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Daimler. It was redeveloped in 2006 to offer 21st century exhibition space for established and emerging artists. The London stock brick exterior with arched windows has been beautifully restored, while the interior has been stripped out creating a state-of-the-art white space with a polished concrete floor. The Foundation commissioned legendary artist James Turrell to create a permanent site-specific artwork on the façade of the existing building. By day the gallery spaces are flooded with natural daylight, by night the windows are illuminated in a moving spectrum of colour which mark this out as a completely unique venue in London.
