    The Bear at Hodnet is a 16th century coaching inn offering a wide range of facilities for private and corporate guests. The building has the enticing character of a bygone age whilst providing the comforts and amenities of the 21st century. To make your visit even more special there is a friendly ghost called Jasper and a former Bear Pit with secret passages leading to the village church and Hodnet Hall. There is a traditional bar with log fires, a restaurant, 8 letting bedrooms and two function rooms suitable for weddings, conferences, meetings and entertainment as well as the well-known Medieval Banquets for which The Bear is famous. There are two meeting rooms. Our main room can accommodate up to 90 people with a stage at one end and bar at the other. All normal conference facilities are available for your use and the room can be arranged to suit your needs. We also have a smaller room that can accommodate up to 12 people and is ideal for that local meeting. Full catering can be provided, if required, or just afternoon tea or morning coffee.

    This traditional 18th century former coaching house has welcomed guests since 1769. Still with original features, the Inn has recently undergone refurbishment, re-opening in May 2006 by its new family ownership, with the intent to provide great value, quality traditional local food and drink to families from all walks of life. Pleasantly situated amongst the countryside, close to surrounding towns and villages, the Wheatsheaf Inn is in prime location, not too far away. With its 60 seat capacity function room, 5 luxury Inn rooms, restaurant, beer garden, children's play area, pool table, live sports, ample parking, local golf and cricket club, there is plenty to do for everyone. Our function room holds a maximum of 60 people seated around 6 large round tables, with buffet menus ranging for all budgets. For large functions requiring a buffet, for more than 60 guests the buffet will be situated just outside of our function room, allowing maximum seating for you and your guests. We are able to arrange discos, decorations and fresh flower arrangements for all functions. We also off conference/training facilities. Our pricing package includes; hire of the room for the whole day, lunch, tea and coffee facilities, A1 flip chart, projector screen and stationary.
