    Housed in Claverton Manor on the outskirts of the Georgian city of Bath, the American Museum in Britain opened to the public in July 1961 with the intention of fostering historic ties between the United States and the United Kingdom. The American Museum is celebrated for its magnificent decorative arts collection – over 200 historic American quilts, exceptional pieces of Shaker furniture, exuberant folk art paintings and sculptures, Native American objects, and Renaissance maps of the New World. We now have several areas available for conferences, wedding receptions, workshops, and private events in our newly refurbished Stables and Coach House within the Museum grounds or in the Orangery Café. Coach House & Stable block. These renovated rooms can be used for conferences, weddings, presentations and meetings. They can be hired as three individual spaces or as one area for the ability to use ‘breakout’ rooms or catering. These rooms are accessible for wheelchair users and an accessible toilet is situated within the Coach House. Cars can drop off/pick up from these facilities should wheelchair users prefer due to the gradient of the path leading to this area. Marquees for private events or wedding receptions can be accommodated on the South Lawn. Catering is separate and coordinated between the client and an approved outside caterer chosen from a list provided by the Museum. Audio Visual equipment is installed (projectors & screens in Stables and Seminar room, sound equipment (PA) in Stables. Wi-fi is available. Induction loops are fitted in all public rooms.
