The Bull is a beautiful Grade II listed Pub and Dining Room at 13 North Hill in Highgate, N6. Set up by the owners of The House in Islington it brings a top class eating and drinking establishment to the businesses and residents of Highgate. Like The House in Islington, the emphasis is on food. Executive Head Chef, Jeremy Hollingsworth, who gained a Michelin star for Marco Pierre White’s Quo Vadis in 1997, will be cooking a menu of simple European dishes, mostly British with a strong French influence. Everything is home-made on the premises from the best quality ingredients in season. The Bull is open for lunch and dinner. There are daily specials running alongside the seasonally changing A La Carte and, during the week, an Express Lunch will be served at a great value £14.95 for two courses and £17.95 for three. The Bull is a free house. It serves Staropramen, Stella and Leffe lager on tap and two cask ales, Timothy Taylors and Highgate I.P.A. As well as the usual excellent quality spirits and minerals, The Bull has a liqueur trolley with speciality Armagnac, Cognac and Eaux de Vie. The extensive wine list devised by top Sommelier, Joelle Marti Baron incorporates some fine vintage wines for the ‘Extravaganza’ section. The Bull has two floors. On the ground floor is the ‘dining room’, an open plan room with extensive banquette seating, bespoke wooden tables, a mahogany bar and a real fire. The room is informal and intimate and perfect for dining. In the Summer, windows and doors fold back onto the outside terrace for al fresco dining. The first floor is the ‘pub’ with beautiful floor to ceiling windows, open fire, cherry wood bar and more relaxed furnishings mixing traditional and modern. This room also houses an original American pool table and an open fire. FUNCTIONS Meetings, parties and weddings are happily catered for. The Bull has a private dining room which can seat 20 people for a sit-down meal. Set menus from £30, £35 and £50. The first floor can be closed off for private parties or the whole venue can be hired exclusively. We will organise canapés or a buffet for groups of 25 people or more.

    • Conference centre

HMV Forum is one of London’s major live entertainment venues. It is located in Kentish Town, North London and is one of the UK’s best-preserved original theatres. The Forum was originally built as an art deco cinema in 1934 by Herbert Yapp, a cinema magnate who also owned the Forum cinemas in Ealing and Fulham. The architect was J. Stanley Beard and the interior design was by his partner W.R. Bennett. It had a 35 foot tall proscenium (the part of the stage between the front of the curtain and the orchestra pit) and a 25 foot deep stage. It had six dressing rooms, a Compton organ and a safety curtain weighing 5 tons. It seated 2,175 in stalls and a single balcony. The first floor accommodated a large tea room and dance hall where tea dances took place; there was even a cosmetics room for the lady patrons. The Forum was launched with a grand opening ceremony of music and films, conducted by the star Sydney Howard, on 17th December 1934.

    Fitzroy House

    Fitzroy House

    35/37 Fitzroy Street London, W1T 6DX
    • Unusual

Fitzroy House is an original 1791 building imitating the designs of Robert Adam, the famous Georgian period architect who along with his brother designed Fitzroy Square. The house is one of the last remaining structures on the block that retains its original external architecture and now shows the life and work of L. Ron Hubbard. The house comprises four impressive floors, one of which is dedicated to an exhibition of Ron Hubbard's early life from boy scout to explorer. It also illustrates his career as one of the top fiction writers in the 1930s and 40s and his later achievements in the humanities. As he holds the Guinness Book of World Records title for Most Published Author (1,084 publications) one of the floors is appropriately dedicated to his literary works. We welcome visitors from around the world to step into this 1950s time capsule where they can view original manuscripts, rare edition books and artifacts relating to the life of one of the most prominent authors of the 20th century. If you wish to hire areas of the house for banquets, conferences and other functions, please call or e-mail for further information.
