    Located in the picturesque city of St Andrews on the coast of Fife, the Byre Theatre was originally built in 1933 when it was, as the name suggests, a cowshed! The current version of the Byre Theatre was completed in 2001 and has consistently won awards for its architecture and style combining the traditional old style of St Andrews on the outside with a relaxing, modern atmosphere inside. Indeed we are proudly the only 5 star arts attraction in Scotland, awarded by Visit Scotland in 2001 & 2005. Why should I hire the Byre? it’s a theatre. As well as awards we have won many friends with the new theatre, which is much more than a theatre and is the ideal place for your event. For example, due to the multi functional use of the theatre and other rooms we can host many events other venues can’t.
